About
Columbia University's Annual Energy Symposium is a student-run event, established to foster exchange of ideas between industry professionals, students and members of the academic body. The Symposium is jointly organized by the School of International and Public Affairs' Student Energy Association and the Columbia Graduate School of Business' Energy Club to offer a wide spectrum of perspectives that reflects the interdisciplinary nature of the energy industry today. Unlike the previous symposia, the 8th Symposium will take place in Lerner Hall to accommodate the growing demand of students and professionals.
Today’s energy landscape is dominated by two emerging forces, shale gas and China’s demand for resources. Both have broad reaching implications affecting renewable technologies, traditional fossil fuel generation, crude oil prices and energy security. Tomorrow’s energy landscape will be determined by today’s innovation and financing decisions, both of which are subject to the decisions of policymakers and the agendas of the various industry players. Please join us for this exciting day of discussion as we delve into these topics and more.
